The DNA sample vial provided in the 3X4 kit is specially designed to keep your sample stable at room temperature.

Extreme heat - we don't see an increase in sample failures during the hot summer months, however your sample may degrade if is left in direct sunlight for a prolonged period.

Extreme cold - it is not a problem if your sample collection vial freezes before you collect your sample, or after you return it to the lab. However, you will need to defrost your vial before you can use it to collect your sample.

Your genetic results aren't impacted

The quality of your DNA sample does not affect the accuracy of your genetic results.

The laboratory will ensure your DNA sample meets with quality standards before processing it, and it will be rejected if the sample is unviable, and you will need to recollect a new sample.

Should a lower-quality sample pass DNA inspections, it may restrict the range of genes we can detect. However, it will not result in any genes being misidentified.
